Two Months of Odessa!

11 pounds 13.5 ounces and 23 1/4 inches long

Can't believe our happy little girl is already two months new! It seems like she changes daily! She smiles all the time. She adores her daddy. She loves being entertained by her big brother. She would nurse all day if you let her. She sleeps for eight hours strait at night but still has no official schedule. She can roll over from her stomach to her back and has started to babble and coo! She still has big bright blue eyes and her very dark brown hair is getting lighter, almost a strawberry blonde :)

We're all having so much fun with her!

Odessa is One, Month That Is...

8 pounds 14.5 ounces and 21 inches

Can't believe this sweet girl is already one month new! I feel like she has changed so much! Her cheeks are chubbier, she is so much more interactive and is such a smiley happy (for the most part) baby. She does seem to have quite a bit of colic but given how gassy she is, I think she's doing great! Poor girl can't catch a break - sick at two weeks old and now horrible gas :(
In the meantime she's one happy baby. She barely fits in her three months clothes. She loves to be held! Would nurse all day if you let her - no joke she eats! A LOT! She loves looking at her big brother and adores all ceiling fans. She loves mirrors and being outside on nice day. She doesn't love tummy time but doesn't hate it either. She's actually rolled over, from tummy to back, and gets really close to rolling over from back to tummy.   She's unbelievably strong and the cutest baby girl I know!

Odessa's Newborn Session

Eight days after welcoming our baby girl we had our favorite photographer and friend over to shoot Odessa's newborn session. We made a complete mess in the bedroom with all kinds of props everywhere! Blankets, wraps, headbands, ect. It was so much fun! Minus it being 100bazillion degrees ;) I am in love with the pictures we got and can't believe how fast the time is flying!

Birth Story

So many wonderful pictures from the day we met Odessa! I'm sharing just a few here :)

Meet Odessa!!

Life has been so crazy since our baby girl arrived! A couple of days after bringing Odessa home Landon got the flu. Then a couple days later Odessa got sick. After a week of seeing our pediatrician every day (yes EVERY DAY) and being on the fence on wether to admit her or not, she is improving and we seemed to have made it through the bugs. Nonetheless, we have been living in baby bliss and are loving every second!

Fun facts about Delivery Day:

I kid you not, I think I was in labor for a week. I had contractions that were perfectly consistent but not painful enough. I had painful contractions, but then they weren't consistent. It was brutal!

Odessa was born on her due date, just like Landon!

We checked into the hospital right around 7am.

Shortly after arriving I had a visit from the anesthesiologist. I was numb as all get out and didn't feel a thing! Thank you epidural!

Turns out Odessa wasn't perfectly lined up to come out (this might have been why I was walking around at 5cm for a week with nothing). As soon as my Doctor rotated her slightly she literally came right out. No joke - I think I pushed twice and she was here!

My husband never left my side - except when it was time to go get Landon and introduce him to his baby sister. Didn't think it was possible to love him any more than I already did, but I do. Watching him with Odessa and Landon is purely magical!

Landon was the first one (except myself and Billy) to hold Odessa. He loves her! Loves to hold her! Loves to kiss her! And has become a real life baby monitor ;) "Mama, baby sister is hungry." "Daddy, go check baby sister." It's the cutest!

Eva, who is not only an amazing photographer but also one of the sweetest people I know, was in the room to capture the day, the birth and all the introductions to the family.

My delivery went so well, I got the go ahead from my Doctor to go home the very next day.

Odessa's pediatrician also cleared us to go home the very next day! Only a little over 24 hours spent in the hospital after she was born!

All in all it was a whirlwind and still is! I can't believe it has been three weeks already!

Photo's from the Birth Story and Newborn Session soon!

39 Weeks!

Into the 39th week! This is now the second pregnancy where I have been told to take it easy earlier in the pregnancy and then when the time comes to pick up activity there's nothing too exciting going on. Feeling good but also tired and really ready to not be pregnant anymore. Fortunately I know the end  is very near and we'll be holding our baby girl in no time. In the mean time I am savoring each and every moment with this little guy as the days of him being my only baby are few :)

How far along? 39w3d

Weight gain: 16lbs

Sleep: Still not sleeping - between contractions, getting up to use the bathroom and just being downright uncomfortable I don't remember the last good night of sleep I've had :(

Maternity clothes: Yes

Best moment this week: Everything is done! Hair, mani/pedi, house is clean and organized, baby girls nursery is beyond precious and we officially have every little thing I can think of that we need (and probably more!).

Movement: She's still managing to move around but it's definitely cramped quarters in there. I'm betting she's going to weigh more than her brother did ;)

Food cravings: None

Anything making you queasy or sick? Still have good days and bad. Was REALLY sick the other night but as usual I woke up feeling okay in the morning.

Labor signs: Yes and lots! A couple of nights ago I had contractions every 5 min that were lasting a min plus... they actually got down to about 3.5 min apart but they were not intense. I'll get intense contractions but then just when I think they are worth timing they go back to being uncomfortable and not intense. Totally different than with Landon as I never felt any labor pains. I can not believe how different these pregnancies have been.

Stretch marks: Still can't find one :)

Belly button: Flatish

Happy or Moody? Ready to have a baby!

Looking forward to: Meeting this sweet girl!

37 Weeks & Full Term!

We made it!!! Can't believe baby girl will be here any day now!! Still waiting on her book case, slip cover for her glider/rocking chair and one more decor accessory for her nursery but other than that her room is done! I have pulled out all of the other necessities and have them ready for her to come home to. Now we're just waiting for her arrival :)
I have a doctors appointment on Monday so we'll see if there is any progression then. In the meantime there are still a ton of Braxton Hicks and a fair amount of actual contractions that don't lead to anything exciting :/ I have had a lot of energy and have been getting a lot done around the house. My OCD is thanking me!

How far along? 37 Weeks 1 Day

Weight gain: 15 lbs

Sleep: Still not sleeping very well. Between getting up to use the restroom and just not being comfortable there is not much sleep going on.

Maternity clothes: Yes, for now... but not for long!!

Best moment this week: Christmas!! I can't even begin to explain how much fun it is to have a toddler during the Holidays. I had so much fun watching Landon open his presents and getting so excited over all of his new toys. Can't wait until next year!

Movement: Yes! But she has definitely slowed down...

Food cravings: Still a hot cocoa with TONS of marshmallows every night but thats about it :)

Anything making you queasy of sick: Nope! Heartburn is gone and have been feeling great!

Labor signs: Lots of Braxton Hicks and there have been stretches of actual contractions but nothing that leads to anything exciting. I have a doctors appointment on Monday so we'll see where I am at then :)

Stretch marks: Still haven't seen one! I love my Mustela!

Belly button: Not an innie and not an outie...

Happy or Moody: Happy! Can't wait to meet our sweet girl and introduce her to all of our family and friends!

Looking forward to: Having all the Christmas stuff packed up and the house perfectly clean before baby girl gets here :)
